DG Shipping is the regulatory authority under the Government of India that oversees maritime activities, including recruitment and placement of seafarers. It ensures compliance with international conventions like the Maritime Labour Convention (MLC).

RPSL stands for Recruitment and Placement Service License. Only agencies with a valid RPSL issued by DG Shipping are authorized to recruit and place seafarers. Our RPSL number is RPSL-MUM-180.

3. Do seafarers have to pay recruitment fees?

No. As per DG Shipping guidelines and ILO conventions, seafarers are not charged recruitment or placement fees. All costs are borne by the employer or shipping company.

  • Application submission
  • Verification of certificates and medical fitness
  • Interview and merit-based selection
  • Issuance of transparent employment contracts
  • Placement onboard vessels in compliance with DG Shipping rules
5. How do you ensure transparency in placement?

We strictly follow DG Shipping’s audit and reporting requirements, disclose our compliance status, and provide seafarers with clear contracts and grievance redressal mechanisms.

6. What happens if an agency violates DG Shipping guidelines?

Agencies can face penalties, suspension, or blacklisting of their RPSL license. This ensures accountability and protects seafarers from malpractice.

7. How can seafarers raise complaints or grievances?

Seafarers can contact our grievance helpline/email. If issues remain unresolved, they can escalate directly to DG Shipping through its official portal.
